U of T Film Festival 2012 : March 21-22, 2012 at Hart House, Free
The 2012 U of T Film Festival will be held at Hart House on March 21-22, 2012. We will consider shorts of any length or genre, but priority will go to work by Hart House Film Board members and members of the University of Toronto community, and the shorter the submission the better the odds we will screen it. Members of the Hart House Film Board eligible for cash prizes.
Deadline to submit is 5pm Friday March 2. See Submissions Page for more details.

9/11 in the Academic Community (Projected 2012) by Adnan Zuberi (University of Toronto, Hart House Film Board) – 10:04
Preview of a documentary in works examining the nature and the dimensions of the taboo of critically examining the events of 9/11 within academia. Students, professors and university presidents are now coming forward to discuss their experiences with the subject.

Thirty distinct pairs of hands, starting from the oldest to the youngest, do something different, from opening a bottle of
pills to handling a large piece of tuna. Those hands are working, and communicating a fresh story.

Beautiful portrait of life in a Tibetan village, especially local food production, special days like Tibetan Losar (New Years), Weddings, and the worship of their mountain Gods.

How to Get Your Film Into Festivals – A Free talk with Allan Tong
Wednesday, March 30, 6:30-9:30pm, Hart House
You’ve made a film. Now how do you get it seen, maybe sold? This workshop by a film programmer looks at festival strategy, how to prepare a press kit and how to market your film at a festival to buyers and other programmers. This session will answer: Which festivals should I apply to? Why are promo postcards important? What’s a screener?
Allan Tong has been a programmer for Planet in Focus, CONTACT Photography, ReelWorld, Reel Asian and Regent Park film festivals. His film reviews and articles are regularly published in POV, Montage and Exclaim! magazines. His short films have been screened on CBC and Bravo.
